How to use the low cost SIPP calculator:

In the green "Input Values" fields, using whole numbers only, type in the values of trades you expect to make per year and the value of your investments and cash holdings. Using data from each of the platform websites you can easily see where you're more likely to be better off when it comes to fees.

Shares – includes ETFs, investment trusts, gilts and bonds
Funds – includes unit trusts, OEICs and structured products

Low Cost SIPP Calculator Tool:
Key:

Platform Fees - How much your annual charges inclusive of expected trades are likely to be.

Cash interest - Most providers who allow you to hold cash in your SIPP will offer interest. This varies a lot across providers and could make a difference if you have a significant cash holding you haven't yet (or have chosen not to) invested.

Net position - A simple calculation of Cash Interest minus any Platform Fees (as above)

Stocks - Does the platform offer a wide array of individual stocks (shares?). Or is is just funds (i.e. pre-grouped investments)? This is not necessarily good or bad, it just depends on the types of investments different people like to make.

Fund Fees - Whether the platforms have additional fees for holding particular investments, i.e. Ongoing Charges Figures (OCFs). In basic terms most platforms are going to charge you their fees then also an additional fere for holding a particular investment. These charges vary significantly and will vary depending on the type of investments in your SIPP. If you don't understand what this means then please consult a suitably qualified person!
